BLOOMINGTON — Acclaimed Christian artist Steven Curtis Chapman is set to perform at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts later this year, city officials said Monday. 

The show is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, with ticket sales set to start at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24. 

Chapman, 61, has long been one of Christian contemporary music’s most successful recording artists. He is the recipient of five Grammy Awards, 59 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards and an American Music Award. In June 2022, Chapman joined the likes of Dolly Parton, Sting, Carole King and Stevie Nicks in receiving the BMI Icon Award. 

And in February 2023, he logged another milestone with his 50th No. 1 single, “Don’t Lose Heart.” It appears on his most recent album, “Still.” 

Some of Chapman’s other notable hits include “I Will Be Here,” “The Great Adventure,” “Dive,” “Live Out Loud” and “For The Sake Of The Call.”
