COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Members of the Columbus United FC made a trip to the Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Regional on Thursday.

On Wednesday night, Columbus United FC beat Tallahassee SC, 3-1, securing a home playoff game on July 6. The team was back in Columbus to visit with patients less than a day later.

“At difficult times, it’s good to have a happy feeling around. It’s a blessing to be able to come here, see their smiles and pass out signatures,” said Columbus United FC centre-back Damean Dominguez.

A percentage of ticket sales to Saturday’s game with Pensacola FC will go to the Piedmont Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital. The new Piedmont Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital will open this fall and is the only freestanding children’s hospital in the region.

This Saturday’s match begins at 7 ET at Kinnett Stadium.
