Creative is adding additional headphones to its Super X-Fi lineup as the company pushes harder into virtual surround. Super X-Fi (or SXFI) is a fantastic solution for delivering a virtual object-based sound experience similar to DTS:X or Dolby Atmos, using virtually any pair of headphones using a USB SXFI amp or headphones that have it built-in. It creates a larger soundstage within the ears and is great for absorbing your media content.

This time around, it is a focus on the new Creative Zen Air SXFI & Creative Zen Hybrid SXFI. Both of which offer the technology built-in, offer plenty of battery life, as well as hybrid/adaptive ANC (as well as ambient mode).

The first of the two (Creative Zen Air SXFI) is the company’s latest TWS wireless earbuds, featuring 10 mm Neodymium drivers, up to 39 hours of playtime, multi-point connectivity, Bluetooth 5.3,  and an IPX5 rating (for general sweat and dust).

The second model (Creative Zen Hybrid SXFI) is your typical over-the-ear design with 40 mm Neodymium drivers, up to 70 hours of playtime, offers both wired and wireless connectivity, and comes in two different colors (white or black, both with gold accent trim).

Both models can tap into Super X-Fi for an immersive experience. All of this is controllable using the SXFI app, available for both Android and iOS devices. This app is also used to take a scan of your ear for a unique dialed-in experience (profile). Personally, I have quite enjoyed SXFI ever since Creative originally demoed it to us at one of the Consumer Electronic Shows in Las Vegas, using both headphones and their amazing SXFI soundbar.

Both of these new models are available for pre-order from Creative’s website. The Creative Zen Air SXFI ($79.99) & Creative Zen Hybrid SXFI ($99.99). They should begin shipping shortly.
