SoCal’s Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is bringing back its popular Tunes at the Dunes live waterfront concert series.

It kicks off the summer on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26, and continues on holiday weekends throughout the season, including 4th of July and Labor Day weekends.

It offers a lively beachfront experience live bands as well as Movies on the Beach every Friday and Saturday night throughout the summer.

The lineup of acts covers all genres from soulful blues to classic rock and surf reggae tunes, against the backdrop of the Upper Newport Back Bay.

There is a full bar as well as local food trucks.

Guests are encouraged to bring beach chairs or floats for this family-friendly event.

Admission to enjoy the SoCal beach and live entertainment is free and open to the public.

Parking is available for $35 per car on holiday weekends.

May 26 | Cali Conscious (Surf Reggae)

July 4 | Independence Day on the Back Bay – The Class (Oldies, Classic Rock and Top 40s)

July 5 | Kelly Boyz Band (Country Rock)

July 6 | Cubensis (Grateful Dead Tribute)

August 30 | David Rosales (Country, Folk, Blues, Rock)

August 31 | Jimmy’s Buffet (Jimmy Buffett Tribute)

September 1 | DSB (Journey Tribute Band)


Movies on the Beach

The outdoor cinema is set up for Movies on the Beach at Newport Dunes, every Friday and Saturday night at dusk throughout the summer.

Admission to Movies on the Beach is free and open to the public and parking rates apply.

The movie schedule is family friendly with screenings of classic animated movies like Shrek, The Incredibles and Ice Age to Marvel action films.

For a summer glamping getaway, Newport Dunes has waterfront RV and tent camping sites and beach cottages.

Advance reservations are recommended as summer accommodations fill up fast.
