The Norman Jordan African American Arts & Heritage Academy is accepting applications for its July 8-13 summer youth academy on the campus of West Virginia State University in Institute.

Students will reside in university residential housing and have meals on campus.

The academy offers students 12 to 18 years of age a one-week experience in an artistic discipline of their choice. Interested students may choose from Vocal Music, Instrumental Music (strings, horns, and drums), Dance, Theater, Visual Arts, and Creative Writing (including Hip Hop and basic song writing).

Approximately 35 students will be accepted to attend.
