In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

Umpqua Actors Community Theatre now has tickets on sale for its summer musical.

“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” will be presented July 25th through August 4th in the Jacoby Auditorium of Umpqua Community College.

Step into a world of pure imagination as UACT performers bring Roald Dahl’s most famous book to life, live on stage. A UACT release said this musical will combine jaw dropping visual effects, bright costumes, stellar dance numbers, and everything one would expect from of a world made out of chocolate and candy.

Tickets are $22 for adults and $17 for children aged 12 and under. VIP pricing is available as well: For $42 theater goers receive early entry into the auditorium to get a first pick of seats, and get a special dessert and drink served at intermission, along with VIP pictures with the cast after the show. Proceeds from VIP ticket sales go to the UACT children’s program. There are only 25 VIP tickets available per performance.

Shows are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. Tickets to “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” are available in advance by calling UACT at 673-2125 or by going to www.uact.theatre.com
